How do I become a Freemason?

Membership is open to any man over the age of 18, irrespective of their race or religion. The first step is to either ask a friend, neighbour, colleague or acquaintance who is a Freemason at the Vale of Itchen to propose you. If you do not know brothers in the Vale of Itchen, please contact us; we can still invite you to join. Once you have been proposed and accepted you will undertake a series of ceremonies known as ‘degrees’, beginning with your initiation, known as ‘The First Degree’. Freemason’s ceremonies explain a system of morality and encourages a charitable, kind approach to life and others.
